nKoniag Professional Services (KPS), a Koniag Government Services company , is seeking a Physician to support KPS and our government customer in support of the Albany Military Entrance Processing Station. This position is for a future business opportunity.
nWork Hours: Services are to be provided between the hours of 06:00 to 17:00 pm (remain flexible) Monday through Friday unless specified otherwise. Primary location of performance is: 11 A Clinton Avenue Albany NY, 12207

nThe Physician is responsible to perform a review of military service applicants' medical histories, perform medical evaluations, and conduct reviews of medical test results and documents, with an end goal of determining whether the applicant meets the medical standards established by Congress and the Military Services at one of the USMEPCOM geographically dispersed facilities.
nResponsibilities:
nnnConduct medical histories and physical examinations.
n
nnAssess eligibility of applicants based on Department of Defense (DoD) medical standards.
n
nnReview of required medical tests and documents pertaining to consultations and medical histories
n
nnSecure a thorough health history from the applicant and record findings.
n
nnAssess applicant medical documentation and render their medical opinion on an applicant's medical fitness for programs applying for
n
nnApply accession medical standards to determine applicant medical qualifications.
n
nnBecome proficient in the application of accession medical standards to determine suitability of applicants for military service.
n
nnProvide highest regard to applicant dignity.
n
nnAbide by and follow IAW, Privacy Act and HIPPA
n
nnParticipate in MEPS local, medical peer reviews.
n
nnUse Philosophy Known as "Red Carpet Treatment"
n
nnComply with all installation policies and procedures.
n
nnAccess and update electronic medical documentation,
n
nnAccess and respond to e-mail communications and use internet sites as required to obtain information on medical issues.
n
nnEffectively communicate with all parties and other providers
n
nnOther duties as assigned.
n
n nQualifications:
nnnMedical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from a medical school that is Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) or Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) accredited.
n
nnCompleted an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited residency or have provided direct patient care as an independent practitioner within the last three (3) years.
n
nnGraduates of a foreign medical school are required to possess both a Medical License and Certification by the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG)
n
nnPossess a current unrestricted license from any one of the 50 U.S. States, the District of Columbia, The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands
n
nnMinimum of one (1) year experience, post-graduate training
n
nnPossess and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA). BLS must include Hands-On skills session.
n
n nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
nnnPossess computer skills necessary to access and update electronic medical documentation, access and respond to e-mail communications, and use internet sites as required to obtain information on medical issues. This includes keyboard data entry of all medical record entries, consults, and applicant medical processing
n
nnAbility to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate with all parties and other providers
n
nnAbility to effectively plan and utilize time while administering judgement and demonstrating sound decision-making skills
n
nnPossess sufficient initiative, interpersonal relationship skills and social sensitivity
n
nnAbility to complete Genesis training requirements for medical documentation
n
nnExperience in collecting, organizing, recording and communicating, while taking health histories and administering mental health screening questionnaires
n
nnKnowledgeable of diagnostic procedures related to a variety of medical and health care fields to include obstetrics and gynecology, otolaryngology, pediatric, orthopedic, internal medicine and mental health
n
