The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Care is seeking faculty to work as a part of a team emphasizing high quality, patient-centered perioperative care with a focus on evidence-based medicine. The Department has essential roles in patient care outside of the operating rooms, with active participation in Ambulatory Care, Acute and Chronic Pain, and the Preoperative Clinic. UCSF Health encompasses five main campuses: the UCSF Helen Diller Medical Center at Parnassus Heights, the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (a Level 1 Trauma Center), Mount Zion Medical Center, Benioff Childrens Hospital Oakland, and Benioff Childrens, Betty Irene Moore Womens, and Bakar Cancer Hospitals at Mission Bay.
Successful applicants will demonstrate an aptitude for and dedication to medical education and providing evidence based, high quality care in clinical teams that enhance the patient experience with a commitment to patient safety and satisfaction. Applicants are expected to teach residents and medical students; participate in University service, faculty meetings, monthly Grand Rounds and M&M conferences; contribute to quality assurance programs and continuing education; and advance the mission of the department.
The successful candidate must meet the following qualifications by time of hire:
Must hold an MD, DO, or equivalent degree and be board eligible or certified in Anesthesia.
Must possess of a California Medical License or equivalent Special Permit issued (or Special Permit application submitted) by the California Medical Board.
Applicants materials must list (pending) qualifications upon submission.
Applicant must have all requirements met by time of hire
Individuals considered for appointment at the assistant rank and above will need to be Fellowship trained or have equivalent advanced training and/or experience beyond that of anesthesia residency training.
