Description:Evaluate medical problems of patients in the assigned gastroenterology practice setting.Request consultations from other specialties when indicated.Provide education to patients and their families regarding preventive care, medical issues, and prescribed treatments.Document all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, outcomes, and education consistent with regulatory standards.Maintain documentation compliance for appropriate coding.Facilitate evaluation of records by physicians and peers according to protocols.Referral of complex cases to collaborating physicians.Provide medical and emergency interventions appropriate to the needs of clients.Prescribe and monitor medications relevant to diagnoses.Order and monitor the appropriateness of emergency interventions.This role requires the ability to collaborate with other healthcare professionals and provide comprehensive patient care.Candidates should be passionate about gastroenterology and committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.The acuity level of patients includes adults acutely ill with a wide variety of medical problems.Utilize EPIC for charting.Adhere to unit policies regarding lunch breaks and overtime.Cell phone use is prohibited in patient care areas.Tattoos are not addressed in the policy.Ensure all personal grooming adheres to conservative standards.Wear an ID badge at all times and avoid strong scents.
