Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner -- Practice Emergency Medicine in Saratoga Springs, New York!
Pay Range: $70 - $80/hr.
Location: Saratoga Springs, New York.
Position: Full-Time, Varied shifts.
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (Advanced Practice Provider, APP) in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care serves as an additional patient care provider, augmenting and extending patient services provided by the health care team. The NP/PA will work closely with members of the team and has a reasonable amount of autonomy in the care and medical decision‑making for patients. Our APPs work at several locations, including the Saratoga Hospital Emergency Department, Emergent Care, and Urgent Care locations.
Responsibilities
Assessment and management of patients, including ordering diagnostic tests, consultations, therapeutic interventions or procedures, and the implementation and evaluation of an appropriate plan of care.
Provides comprehensive healthcare sensitive to the needs of the population, including assessment, diagnosing, prescribing, counseling, and referrals where appropriate, enabling patient choice in provision of care, complementing roles of MD and multidisciplinary team.
Augments a physician's ability to provide medical services to patients; collects and documents data, conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations, and provides direct patient care services.
Conducts patient assessments and complete physical examinations, collects clinical data including vital signs, collects specimens, prepares patients for tests, therapy, or treatments, orders and interprets medical laboratory test results, diagnoses medical conditions of patients, administers medications or treatments, and performs minor surgery.
Completes accurate patient documentation for effective billing and maintains accurate and detailed patient medical reports.
Serves as a resource and team leader during clinical shifts to ensure the smooth flow of patient processing, treatment, and discharge including patient triaging.
Maintains current level of knowledge relative to professional practice.
Maintains all required professional documentation, such as license, certifications, infection control, ACLS/BLS, DEA, as well as system requirements.
Acts as resource to staff and implements educational programs, as needed.
Qualifications
Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in New York State by the time of credentialing.
