Job Details
Permanent night shift position within the Stroke Program as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN)
Provide holistic, quality, and cost-effective advanced practice care for patients, families, and others in a target population
Participate in the medical management of patients to achieve or maintain optimal health status, manage disease, and reduce risk of illness
Engage in independent decision-making regarding the health care of individuals, families, and groups across the lifespan and health care continuum
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team planning and delivering care for neurology, stroke, and complex disorders affecting blood supply to the brain and spinal cord
Conditions managed include brain aneurysms, carotid artery disease, cervical artery dissection, vascular malformations, and other disorders of the nervous system
Collaborate with neurology attending physicians, rehabilitation teams, nurses, and other healthcare team members
Receive extensive onboarding and training throughout the entire continuum of stroke care
Training provided in medication management, neuroradiology, condition-specific physical examination, and treatment planning
Current APRN license required (post-1994) with certification according to CT state law
Completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner Program required if appropriate for specialty
Master's Degree in Nursing strongly preferred
Specific experience in specialty may be required
