Location: UCHealth Yampa Valley Medical Center, Steamboat Springs, CO.
Department: YVMC Cancer Center
FTE: PRN, 0.0 hours per pay period (2 weeks)
Shift: Days
Pay: $47.44 - $71.16 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience
Summary
Under the supervision of a physician, provides direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services to patients in specialty care services.
Responsibilities
Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview, and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic procedures.
Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
Provides inpatient and/or outpatient care to include preoperative, intra-operative, and post-operative services, as well as critical care/intensive care medical management.
Requirements
Completion of a nationally accredited educational program for Physician Assistants.
State licensure as a Physician Assistant.
Unrestricted DEA permit to prescribe all medications commonly prescribed in the course of practice.
Appropriate credentialing through Medical Staff Services.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be valid through sixty days of hire.
Eligible to provide reimbursable Physician services and maintain provider status with Medicare and Medicaid. Eligible to provide services with no sanctions or exclusions from either the Health and Human Services/Office of Inspector General (HHS/OIG) Cumulative Sanction Report or the General Services Administration's (GSA) List of Parties Excluded from Federal Programs.
