Job description
Ortho Rhode Island has an excellent opportunity for a per diem Physician Assistant to join its Ortho RI Express team. The Physician Assistant will provide care at the Warwick location.Summary: The provider will assess and treat urgent musculoskeletal injuries in an orthopedic urgent care setting.Performs and documents history and physicals of walk-in patientsEvaluates and treats injuries including sprains, strains, fractures, wound care and post op problemsPerforms in-office procedures such as cast/splint placements, wound care and managing infectionOrders X-rays and other diagnostic tests as neededConsistently and accurately documents all calls, treatments, medications, etc. in patient chartInstructs and counsels patients regarding diagnosis and follow up stepsResponds to all patient questionsAssists physicians in addressing urgent patient needs as necessaryMaintains clinical information with additions/corrections as neededConsults with an orthopedic surgeon as neededPerforms other duties/projects as assignedIND2Requirements:NCCPA CertifiedRhode Island PA licenseDEAMinimum of one-year orthopedic or emergency room experience preferredStrong interpersonal and customer service skillsFor more information about Ortho Rhode Island, please visit are an equal-opportunity employer.
