"General CardiologistPosition OverviewSeeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible General Cardiologist for an ongoing locum opportunity beginning in October 2026. This position offers a collaborative practice environment with a balanced mix of inpatient consults, outpatient clinic, and call coverage.
Compensation:
24 Hour Call: $3350 per 24 hoursScheduleStart Date: October 2026Ongoing assignmentCoverage: 7-day blocks every other month24-hour shifts (8:00 AM 8:00 AM)Approximately 8 hours of onsite patient care dailyTelephone call coverage includedLow callback volumePractice SettingHospital-basedInpatient and OutpatientCollaborative cardiology practiceResponsibilitiesInpatient cardiology consults and roundingOutpatient cardiology clinicInterpretation of stress testsEchocardiogram reading and interpretationManagement of general cardiology patients across both inpatient and outpatient settingsPatient VolumeAverage inpatient census: 15 patients per dayAverage clinic volume: 810 patients per dayEMREpicRequirementsBoard Certified or Board Eligible in CardiologyIllinois license or willingness to obtain licensure (IMLC accepted)DEA requiredCSR requiredBLS and ACLS certificationsMinimum of one year of experienceAdditional InformationFull privileges availableEstimated credentialing timeframe: 90 daysOngoing coverage with potential for additional assignments as program needs evolveProviders work alongside other members of the cardiology team and are not expected to work solo."
