Job description
BC/BE Interventional (Coronary) Cardiologist opportunity with a strong hospital-employed cardiology group in an eastern Kentucky community, offering a high-acuity cath lab practice, robust incentive package, and excellent work-life balance.Position HighlightsInterventional (coronary-focused) cardiology position with a well-established, hospital-employed cardiology group.Collegial team: 2 cardiologists, 1 APRN, 4 MAs, and experienced support staff.Outpatient schedule: Monday"Thursday 8:00 a.m."4:30 p.m.; Friday 8:00 a.m."12:00 p.m.Call schedule approximately 1:5, supported by a comprehensive inpatient and emergency cardiology program.Cardiology Services & TechnologyFull spectrum of interventional services: diagnostic cath, coronary interventions, STEMI program, and peripheral vascular program.Non-invasive services on-site: EKG, Holter monitoring, echocardiography, and stress testing with an accredited echo lab.Advanced imaging: nuclear cardiology and cardiac MRI.Two fully equipped cardiac catheterization labs and electrophysiology capabilities.Device implantation including bi-ventricular pacemakers and bi-ventricular ICDs.Integrated EPIC EHR (Gold Star level) with advanced tools such as DAX Co-pilot.Compensation & IncentivesCompetitive compensation with a two-year income guarantee plus productivity and quality bonuses.Up to $200,000 in recruitment incentives (combination of starting bonus, student loan repayment, residency/fellowship stipend, relocation support, CME funds, and malpractice with tail).Generous time off (7+ weeks annually for full-time physicians) and CME allowance.Complimentary professional student loan debt repayment advising; PSLF-eligible employer.Physician mentorship pathway and strong physician-led culture with leadership councils.Hospital & System EnvironmentBusy regional medical center (250+ beds) serving a multi-county population of more than 200,000.Broad specialty backup on-site, including general cardiology, GI, oncology, orthopedics, womens health, primary care, and behavioral health.Advanced infrastructure with multiple cath labs, cardiac CTA, robust behavioral health services, and an affiliated LTAC hospital on campus.Major capital investment underway, including a new patient-care tower, expanded ED, and increased ICU capacity.Stable nursing and support staff with long average tenure and low reliance on travelers, fostering a collaborative, mission-driven culture.Community & LifestyleLocated in a welcoming Appalachian community in southeastern Kentucky, serving as a regional hub for healthcare, education, and commerce.Cost of living well below the national average with attractive housing options, minimal commute times, and a close-knit, family-friendly atmosphere.Exceptional outdoor recreation nearby: large lakes for boating and fishing, renowned state parks and forests, waterfalls, hiking, camping, and scenic trails.Convenient access to larger cities via I-75"approximately an hour to Lexington, KY and Knoxville, TN, and within reach of multiple regional airports.Highly ranked local school district and numerous community events, festivals, farmers markets, and downtown amenities, including locally owned restaurants and shops.Visa & Relocation SupportStrong experience supporting J-1 and H-1B physicians through regional waiver programs.Dedicated immigration support from experienced legal counsel to ensure a smooth transition for international graduates.
