"General Cardiology Locum Opportunity New YorkA healthcare system in New York is seeking a Board-Certified General Cardiologist for a long-term locum assignment. The provider will work primarily in an outpatient setting with occasional inpatient consult responsibilities and limited call coverage.
Compensation:
Regular: $280/hrNight Calls: $2220 per 24 hoursPosition DetailsSpecialty: General CardiologyStart Date: August 2026 (anticipated)Assignment Length: 69 monthsSchedule: MondayThursday, 8:00 AM6:00 PMCoverage Requirement: 3 weeks per monthSeeking one provider committed to the ongoing schedulePractice SettingPrimarily outpatient cardiology clinicOccasional inpatient consult coverageSolo physician practice environmentEpic EMRClinical ResponsibilitiesOutpatient cardiology clinic approximately 3 days per weekSupervision of cardiac stress testing approximately 1 day per weekOvernight call coverage as needed (4:00 PM8:00 AM)Hospital consult service participation as neededReading cardiac imaging studies preferredNuclear stress test interpretation preferred but not requiredPatient PopulationAdult patientsMix of routine and complex cardiology casesRequirementsBoard Certified in CardiologyActive New York medical license requiredEpic experience requiredAHA or RQI certifications requiredStrong preference for providers with 5+ years of experienceAbility to work independently in a solo practice settingPreferred QualificationsExperience reading cardiac imaging studiesAbility to interpret nuclear stress testsRecent outpatient cardiology experienceAdditional InformationProvider will rotate between outpatient and inpatient locations within the same health system.Current need is for a physician who can provide consistent monthly coverage rather than sporadic availability.Credentialing and privileging process should allow for an anticipated August start date.Submission RequirementsActive New York licenseBoard Certification in CardiologyUpdated work history with no unexplained gaps greater than 30 daysEpic experienceCurrent contact informationMalpractice explanation letter if applicable"
