n nLicensed Physician Duties & Responsibilities:
nnnThe Physician is responsible for assessing and treating patients' physical health including conducting exams and coordinating outside referrals.
n
nnThe role includes oversight of clinical care activities provided by ARNPs, documentation, and after-hours on-call responsibilities.
n
nnThis position performs minor procedures and collaborates with psychiatric and interdisciplinary staff to ensure integrated care.
n
nnPhysicians also educate patients and families, ensure compliance with safety procedures, and tailor treatment plans to the patient's age and development.
n
nnTravel may be required depending on facility needs, and work is primarily in correctional or clinical settings.
n
nnAssess patients' physical health through examinations and diagnostic procedures
n
nnProvide and oversee documentation, outside referrals, consultations, and follow-ups
n
nnOffer clinical oversight and support to ARNPs, including care provision and documentation review
n
nnPerform minor medical procedures such as sutures, IV placement, and lumbar puncture
n
nnCollaborate with interdisciplinary staff and provide education to patients and families
n
n nMinimum Qualifications:
nnnMedical doctorate (MD) or doctor of osteopathy (DO) from an accredited university
n
nnTwo (2) years post-residency clinical experience in an outpatient/inpatient setting
n
nnPsychiatric experience preferred
n
nnLicensed in the state of employment
n
nnCurrent Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and applicable certifications
n
nnBoard certified or eligible in internal or family medicine
n
nnCopy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
n
nnCopy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
