CRITICAL CARE PHYSICIAN LEADER DIRECTOR COMMUNITYCentral Valley of California. 2.5 Hours to LAX Airport. County population 1 Million people. Industries in addition to healthcare include natural gas + other energy extraction, mining, petroleum refining, distribution, food processing & corporate regional offices. Moderate cost of living with private and public schooling options.OVERVIEWNew Fellowship Program allowing incoming full time employed Director an opportunity to build & shape the culture, expectations, curriculum + the educational philosophy. position combines protected Program Director time with active clinical practice as an intensivist at the hospital.Join established private practice of 50 providers with specialties of Critical Care, Pulmonology, Neuro Critical Care, Hospitalists & Emergency Medicine. Physician retention rate of over 95%.ROLEExpected 10 ICU shifts/month on top of Program Director responsibilities. Clinical schedule will include daytime and possibly nighttime coverage. Night shifts <30% of clinical schedule.Fellowship curriculum developmentDevelopment of educational goals and competency standardsFaculty recruitment and developmentEstablishing evaluation and feedback systemsDevelopment of didactic and bedside educational programsParticipation in the accreditation application processPreparation for accreditation reviewDevelopment of fellowship recruitment and interview processesParticipation in fellow selectionEstablishing expectations for clinical performance, scholarship, professionalism, and accountabilityBuilding the culture of the fellowship before the first fellow arrivesHOSPITAL24-bed Main ICU8-bed Neurocritical Care ICUAverage Census 12-15 patients per intensivist.Two intensivists covering the ICU during the 7:00 AM7:00 PM day shiftOne intensivist covering the ICU during the 7:00 PM7:00 AM night shiftWithin the 8 bed Neurocritical care ICU:The Intensivist functions as the primary attending physician.Neurocritical care consultation is available for collaborative case management.Neurosurgical support is available.Neurointerventional support is available.Currently not an ECMO center, but strong institutional interest in developing a comprehensive cardiogenic shock program.PACKAGECompetitive intensivist clinical compensationSeparate Program Director leadership stipendCombined annual compensation expected to exceed $550,000Depending upon clinical commitment and responsibilities, total annual compensation has the potential to exceed $600,000Hospital employed physicians will also enjoy a full benefits package
