nTHIS IS AN INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR 1099 POSITION
nThe Physician shall perform medical histories, physical examinations, as well as review required medical tests and documents pertaining to consultations and medical histories.
nResponsibilities
nnnConduct medical histories and physical examinations.
n
nnReview of required medical tests and documents pertaining to consultations and medical histories
n
nnSecure a thorough health history from the applicant and record findings.
n
nnAssess applicant medical documentation and render their medical opinion on an applicants medical fitness for programs applying for
n
nnApply accession medical standards to determine applicant medical qualifications.
n
nnBecome proficient in the application of accession medical standards to determine suitability of applicants for military service.
n
nnProvide highest regard to applicant dignity.
n
nnAbide by and follow IAW, Privacy Act and HIPPA
n
nnParticipate in MEPS local, medical peer reviews.
n
nnUse Philosophy Known as Red Carpet Treatment
n
nnComply with all installation policies and procedures.
n
nnAccess and update electronic medical documentation,
n
nnAccess and respond to e-mail communications and use internet sites as required to obtain information on medical issues.
n
nnEffectively communicate with all parties and other providers
n
nnOther duties as assigned
n
n nQualifications
nnnMedical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from a medical school in the United States, Canada, or approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) of the American Medical Association (AMA) or Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) accredited or evidence of Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification.
n
nnCompleted an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited residency
n
nnPossess a current unrestricted license from any one of the 50 U.S. States, the District of Columbia, The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands
n
nnMinimum of one (1) year post graduate experience within the last two (2) years
n
nnPossess and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA). BLS must include Hands-On skills session.
n
n nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
nnnPossess computer skills necessary to access and update electronic medical documentation, access and respond to e-mail communications, and use internet sites as required to obtain information on medical issues. This includes keyboard data entry of all medical record entries, consults and applicant medical processing
n
nnAbility to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate with all parties and other providers
n
nnAbility to effectively plan and utilize time while administering judgement and demonstrating sound decision-making skills
n
nnPossess sufficient initiative, interpersonal relationship skills and social sensitivity
n
nnAbility to complete Genesis training requirements for medical documentation
n
nnExperience in collecting, organizing, recording and communicating, while taking health histories and administering mental health screening questionnaires
n
nnKnowledgeable of diagnostic procedures related to a variety of medical and health care fields to include obstetrics and gynecology, otolaryngology, pediatric, orthopedic, internal medicine and mental health
n

nnWhile performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee may use repeated motions that include the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers.
