Locum Tenens Opportunity: Emergency Medicine Physician Near Flomaton, AL An excellent locum tenens opportunity has arisen for an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician near Flomaton, AL. This position is designed for physicians who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to delivering high-quality emergency care. The role is specifically tailored for nocturnist physicians, offering a great opportunity for those who prefer or are willing to work night shifts.

Practice Setting : Outpatient
Key Responsibilities: Patient Care :Manage an Emergency Department with 21 beds , ensuring efficient and effective care for all patients.
Handle 18-22 patients per shift in a high-acuity setting, requiring rapid decision-making and strong clinical skills.
The department sees approximately 28,000 annual visits , with a 20% admission rate .
Physicians are expected to be comfortable seeing 2 patients per hour , maintaining a high standard of care.
No rounding is required, allowing you to focus solely on emergency care.
Shifts :The facility requires nocturnist physicians who are comfortable working night shifts.
24 hours of physician coverage is provided daily, with additional support from 20 hours of Advanced Practice Provider (APP) coverage .
Physicians who can commit to a minimum of 8-10 shifts per month are highly preferred.
Clinical Requirements :Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine.
Required certifications include ACLS , ATLS , and PALS to ensure readiness for a wide range of emergencies.
Physicians must be licensed in Alabama (AL) or through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) .
The facility highly prefers candidates who can be credentialed quicklythose with minimal work history and no background issues are ideal.
Additional Details: Nocturnist Focus :This opportunity is specifically for physicians willing to work night shifts, as the facility already has sufficient coverage during the day.
Credentialing :A streamlined credentialing process is available, with temporary privileges offered for quick onboarding. The estimated credentialing timeframe is 30-60 days .
Physicians must be able to supply 2 years of Emergency Medicine procedure/case logs to demonstrate recent experience.
Preference is given to regionally-based providers or those who can drive to the facility.
Technology :The facility uses the Medhost EMR system, ensuring that patient records are easily accessible and up-to-date.
