Job Description Opportunity:

Physician - Emergency Medicine

Job Details:

Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED) position requiring ABEM board certification only

Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience required, or family medicine with emergency medicine fellowship

All shifts are 12-hour shifts: 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM or 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM

Single physician coverage at each site with no call required

Duration of need: 1 year

Patient population varies by site: elderly and winter Texans at Rockport, nursing home and rural elderly at Northwest, and mixed with younger patients at Portland

Average daily patient census: 45 at Rockport, 60 at Portland and Northwest, and 80 at Doctors Regional

Admission rates of 10% at FSEDs and 20% at Doctors Regional

Northwest and Doctors Regional are Level IV trauma centers; all sites see high acuity patients

Required procedures include intubation, central line placement, ultrasound utilization, OB delivery, dislocation reductions, chest tube placement, trauma management, and laceration repair

APP support available at all sites varying from 9 to 24 hours per day

Onboarding includes 2 hours of EMR and quality measures training plus 2-3 required shadow shifts

Case logs will need to be provided

The system includes both Level IV trauma centers and freestanding emergency departments, equipped to handle high-acuity cases and a wide variety of emergency medicine presentations. Each site is staffed with APP support and modern resources to ensure comprehensive patient care.
