Job Description
The Huntington, WV VA Healthcare System advocates for a Whole Health System of care in each of the Medical Centers. This is an approach to healthcare that empowers and equips people to take charge of their health and well-being and live their lives to the fullest. As an employee operating in a Whole Health System of care, you will operate in a model with three core elements, seeking to create a personalized health plan for each Veteran. This Physician is the Emergency Department within the Medical Service and practices at the independent clinical level of practice. The Physician has specialized knowledge of practice related to assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a variety of Emergency Medicine conditions.
Major Duties
Emergency Medicine physicians assess, evaluate, diagnose and initially treat patients in the Emergency Department with any symptom, illness or condition.
Stabilize patients with major illnesses or injuries and assess all patients to determine if additional care is necessary.
Perform or assist in related procedures.
Works as a member of the Emergency Medicine team at the Hershel "Woody" Williams campus of the Huntington VA Hospital.
There may be other duties as assigned or required.
Work Schedule: Hours/days will vary. Your schedule will ultimately be determined by your Supervisor and be based on needs of the Department, Facility, and/or Agency. Compressed tour may be authorized.
