Are you an Urgent Carephysician searching for your next locum tenens opportunity? This position with one of VISTA's healthcare partners in Missouri might be the perfect fit for you!
Opportunity Highlights
Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00 AM-8:00 PM; Sat-Sun 9:00 AM-5:00 PM (transitioning to 12-hour shifts on weekends); no overtime; blocks of shifts preferred; weekdays and weekends
Job Setting: Outpatient - Urgent Care
Types of Cases: Urgent care visits including adults and pediatrics (ages 6+ months); 36-48 patients per shift; minor procedures including suturing/wound care, incision & draining, splinting; EKG and X-ray interpretation; no call required
Credentialing: Estimated credentialing timeframe is 120 days; interview with medical director required prior to confirmation; proof of 50 patient encounters in the last 12 months required; no hospital/surgery center privileges required
EMR System: Epic (Epic comfort a plus; training provided after credentialing and onboarding)
Minimum Requirements
Board Certified/Board Eligible: Board Certified or Board Eligible (if within 5 years of residency) in Family Medicine (FM), Emergency Medicine (EM), or Med/Peds; must be certified through American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or American Osteopathic Board (AOB); no other boards accepted
Certifications: BLS required (must be current and issued directly from the American Heart Association)
Licensure: Must be licensed in Missouri (MO); IMLC not accepted
Training: Residency training in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Med/Peds required; must be trained to see both adults and pediatrics
Experience: Must demonstrate 50 patient encounters in the last 12 months correlating to privileges requested; comfortable with minor procedures (sutures, casts, splints), EKG and X-ray reading
