JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: H-MD- Profession: Physician Specialty: Emergency Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Munster, Indiana Coverage Period: Oct 01, 2026 Ongoing Reason for Coverage: Coverage Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 41 patients per day Case Mix: Moderate-acuity ED cases FACILITY INFORMATION No. of Beds in Department: 63 beds PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Credentialing Timeline: 120+ days REQUIRED PROCEDURES Moderate Sedation JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM) Licenses: Active, unrestricted Indiana Medical License (or ability to obtain), Indiana Controlled Substance Registration, DEA with Indiana address DEA / CDS: Active DEA required with Indiana address and schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, and 4 Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS required Experience: Completion of an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine Residency Other Qualifications: CME attestation, case logs covering previous two years, current Flu/TB/COVID documentation, malpractice coverage history DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients presenting to the ED Manage acute and moderate-acuity cases in a community hospital setting Perform moderate sedation and other emergency procedures as required Maintain cross-credentialing and provide coverage at both Franciscan Health Munster and Franciscan Health Dyer Collaborate with nursing and support staff to ensure timely patient evaluation and treatment
