Specialty: Pediatric Emergency Medicine Location: Austin, TX (J-1 Eligible) Company: Optigy Type: Permanent Full-Time Onsite Salary: $188/hr Position Overview: Optigy is recruiting Pediatric Emergency Medicine physicians to join a nationally recognized, environmentally advanced pediatric healthcare campus in Austin, TX. This opportunity offers a dynamic clinical and academic environment within a robust and expanding emergency medicine program. As the regions only Level I Pediatric Trauma Center across a 46-county area, this facility provides comprehensive, high-acuity care in a state-of-the-art setting and features strong academic affiliations, growth opportunities, and a dedicated pediatric EM fellowship. Pediatric ED Volume: 59,000 annual visits Pediatric ED Beds: 45 Admission Rate: 16% Trauma Designation: Only Level I Pediatric Trauma Center in the region Shift Structure: o PEM Physicians: 8- and 9-hour shifts (5681 hours of daily coverage) o Pediatricians/APPs: 8- and 12-hour shifts (2028 hours of daily coverage) EMR: Cerner with CPOE and PowerNote documentation Academic Affiliation: Faculty appointment available through The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School Staff: o 27 full-time PEM attendings o 1213 pediatric EM fellows o Oversight of residents from pediatric, EM, family medicine, and transitional programs Additional Highlights: o Faculty supported in academic pursuits including QI, advocacy, education, and research o RN team trained in PALS, ACLS, TNCC, Pediatric SANE, and more o Advanced simulation center o Expansion-ready facility with dedicated congenital heart, NICU, and fetal care services o Level III trauma services available at additional satellite campus Qualifications: Physicians: BC/BE in Pediatric Emergency Medicine APPs: BC PA or PNP-Acute Care/FNP with 2+ years of pediatric ED, critical care, or urgent care experience Compensation: $188/hr Sign-On Bonus : $60,000 CME/BEA: $4,000 tax-free annually Licensing Costs Covered (State & DEA) Employment Models: W-2 and 1099 available Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and Rx coverage Malpractice insurance with tail coverage 100% Paid Parental Leave Paid Military Leave Short- and Long-Term Disability (own occupation) Student Loan Refinancing (as low as 2.99%) Intangibles & Professional Development: National Clinical Governance Board (NCGB) 24/7/365 live physician support Professional development programs including: o Scholars (Leadership Training) o Efficiency Academy o Engagement & Experience Academy Internal STAT traveling physician program Annual Clinical Assembly About the Community: Austin, TX is one of the most exciting cities in the countryknown for its live music scene, cultural diversity, booming tech industry, and outdoor lifestyle.
