JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: H-MD- Profession: Physician Specialty: Emergency Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Kilgore, Texas Coverage Period: Oct 01, 2026 Ongoing Shift Schedule: 5 to 50 shifts per month; Day and Night, 7a7p / 7p7a Hours Per Shift: 12 Reason for Coverage: Coverage Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Annual volume: Approximately 14500 Patients per day: approximately 40 EMS Volume: Approximately 4% Admission Rate: Approximately 5.5% FACILITY INFORMATION No. of ED Beds: 11 beds EMR System: EPIC Physician Coverage: 24 hours daily Generally no APP coverage; NPPA coverage may be added during winter months if volume increases PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Credentialing Timeline: 6090 days JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Board Eligible or Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM) or Family Medicine (ABFM) with at least 2 years of ED experience at facilities with annual volumes of 10,000+ visits Licenses: Active Texas license required Certifications: ATLS (initial for BC physicians; current ATLS and ACLS for non-boarded physicians) Experience: FM physicians must have 2+ years of ED experience in high-volume settings DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide emergency medical care to patients in a freestanding emergency department Manage adult and pediatric patients with a variety of acute conditions Perform initial evaluation, treatment, and disposition of patients Collaborate with nursing and support staff to ensure efficient patient flow Maintain accurate medical records using EPIC EMR
