Job description
25-bed Critical Access Hospital Level IV Trauma Center with no inpatient ICU 10,200 ED visits/year 6 ER bedsFlexible 12- or 24-hour shifts (8a8p / 8p8a)High-acuity rural ED with adult, pediatric, trauma, and critical-care patientsFrequent MVCs, oil field/industrial injuries, GSWs, and stabbingsApproximately 1 emergency delivery/month NRP certification requiredProviders should be comfortable with intubations, chest tubes, and managing ventilated/critical patients independently during extended transfer timesED provider responds to in-house codes and rapid responsesTrauma activations and transfers are supported by MedCom/STRAC, local EMS, and air transportCT, X-ray, ultrasound, ventilators, GlideScope, capnography, and blood products availableRespiratory Therapy and pharmacy support availablePrimary transfers go to San Antonio, with occasional transfers to Laredo
