Emergency Medicine Physician Opportunity High-Impact Highlights 12,000 annual ED visits 12-hour physician shifts 10-hour APP/mid-level coverage Epic EMR New graduates considered 3-month proctorship available/required for qualifying new providers Opportunity to serve as a supervising physician for NP/PA providers Strong malpractice coverage: $2.7M per occurrence / $8.1M annual aggregate Position Requirements MD or DO from an accredited medical school Completion of an ACGME/AOA-approved 3-year residency in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine Active, unrestricted Virginia medical license Active Virginia DEA with VA address and required schedules Board certification through ABEM, AOBEM, or ABMS in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine ECFMG required for foreign medical graduates Certifications For providers who are not EM board certified or EM trained: ACLS ATLS PALS NRP for non-ABEM providers Credentialing Requirements Current MMR and Varicella immunity Current TB testing/QuantiFERON Current-season flu vaccination Two-year case logs Documentation of special procedure training, if applicable Preeclampsia education required for initial appointment and every 2 years thereafter New Graduate Opportunity New EM graduates may be considered , including EM residency graduates within the past 12 months, with a 3-month proctorship required .
