JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: H-MD-690 Profession: Physician Specialty: Emergency Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Sunnyside, Washington Facility: Astria Sunnyside Hospital Health System: SCP Health - Locums Coverage Period: Aug 28, 2026 Ongoing Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts Hours Per Shift: 12 Shifts Per Week: 3 Reason for Coverage: Coverage Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 49 patients per day Case Mix: Low acuity, 5% admission rate, consistent with critical access emergency medicine presentations FACILITY INFORMATION No. of Beds in Department: 8 ED Beds Trauma Level: N/A (Critical Access Hospital) EMR System: Allscripts Paragon PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes REQUIRED PROCEDURES Must be comfortable with all DOP-listed procedures Broad emergency medicine skill set appropriate for a critical access facility Ability to independently manage a wide range of emergency presentations and procedures JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC/BE in Emergency Medicine (ABEM), Internal Medicine (ABIM), or Family Medicine (ABFM) through ABMS or AOA Licenses: Active unrestricted Washington medical license and DEA with WA address, schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4 & 5 DEA / CDS: Active DEA and CDS required Certifications: ATLS, BLS, PALS (ACLS also required for IM/FM candidates) Experience: Prior Emergency Medicine experience required; active practice in ED within the past 12 months; successful completion of ACGME or AOA accredited residency Other Qualifications: Case log documentation for the past 24 months; immunizations (Tdap, Hep B, MMR, Varicella, flu, COVID) DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide clinical leadership and emergency medicine services in a critical access hospital environment. Partner closely with hospital leadership and clinical teams to deliver high-quality patient care. Independently manage a wide range of emergency presentations and procedures. Ensure operational excellence and physician engagement within the department. Support departmental growth and innovation.
