nUnityPoint Clinic is a physician-led, nonprofit health care organization offering comprehensive services in primary care, walk-in care and specialty care. The clinical teams at the area’s clinics are improving outcomes, lowering the number of hospital readmissions and reducing avoidable costs associated with treating chronic conditions. nBuena Vista Regional Medical Center is a critical access hospital that serves 25,000 people. Annually they deliver around 350 babies, perform 3,000 surgeries, and have 57,000 outpatient visits.

nnTwo established UnityPoint primary care practices in Storm Lake: Buena Vista Clinic & Family Health Center

nnCohesive group of Family Medicine, Family Medicine with OB, and Internal Medicine Physicians and Advanced Practitioners
n
nnExperienced staff, both clinical and non-clinical who know the patients extremely well

nnArray of services and visiting specialists to serve patients in the community

nnFull-time position, including dedicated administrative time, with flexible scheduling to ensure sufficient patient access

nnFully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on Epic EMR to improve care coordination

nResponsibilities
nnnAverage of 20-25 patients per day
n
nnClinic Open: Monday – Friday, 8a – 5p
n
nnGeneral family medicine procedures such as joint injections, skin excisions, lacerations, casting, etc.
n
nnProvide prenatal/postpartum care and perform deliveries; cesarean sections optional
n
nnEvaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
n
nnPatient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
n
nnExcellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills
n
nnAbility to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
n
n nQualifications
nnnMD or DO
n
nnBoard Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine
n
nnComplete an obstetrics fellowship or meet hospital criteria to perform cesareans
n
nnAbility to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of State
n
nnHold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician’s field of practice
n
nnEligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
n
nnJ-1 waiver sponsorship available
n
nnACLS, NRP, ALSO required if practicing obstetrics
n
