Locum Tenens Opportunity: Physician - Primary Care Near Irvine, CA (Job ID: j- ) A fantastic locum tenens opportunity is available for a Primary Care Physician near Irvine, CA. This position is ideal for a dedicated physician who is passionate about providing high-quality care to patients of all ages in an outpatient primary care setting. The role requires a physician who is board-certified or board-eligible in Family Medicine, with a strong preference for candidates who are already licensed in California. Position Details: Position: Primary Care Physician (Family Medicine) Location: Near Irvine, CA Schedule: ASAP - Ongoing Shift: 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) Block Schedules: No block schedules Patient Load: 18-20 patients per day Practice Setting: Primary Care Clinic Job Responsibilities: Patient Age Group: Care for all age groups, from children to geriatrics Procedures: Perform minor in-office procedures such as cyst removal, laceration repair, and skin biopsies EMR: Proficiency in Epic is highly preferred Daily Schedule: 7 hours of patient-facing time with 1 hour dedicated to administrative tasks Requirements: Board Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (Preferred but not required) State License: Must hold a current and unrestricted California medical license Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (Preferred) DEA: Must have an active DEA certificate Experience: Minimum of 6 months of recent outpatient Family Medicine primary care experience Charting Experience: Experience with Epic EMR is highly preferred Work Experience: Must have 2+ years of experience in outpatient primary care Additional Job Details: Support Staff: Full support staff available, including practice manager, front office supervisor, medical assistants, and patient care associates Credentialing: The credentialing process is expected to take 4-6 weeks Contract Length: 3+ months, with potential for extension Vaccination Requirements: Vaccinations are optional, not mandatory Practice Environment: This position does not require any call duties, allowing you to focus on patient care during clinic hours This is an excellent opportunity for a physician seeking a stable, long-term locum tenens position in a well-supported primary care setting near Irvine, CA.
