Job description
Primary Care Section Lead Physician
The Honor Annex VA clinic located in Kansas City, MO is currently recruiting for 1 full time Primary Care Section Lead Physician. You will be responsible for providing primary care for a diverse group of veterans. The employee shall provide services which include, but are not limited to, diagnosing, treating and managing patients with typical primary care conditions and complete thorough work ups prior to specialty consultation according to usual and acceptable or customary standards of medical practice. The provider will follow VA established clinical and preventive guidelines and document accordingly. The physician will report to the Primary Care Service Chief. The physician will work independently, caring for outpatients in an established clinic. Specialists and other primary care providers are available for consultation. The physician shall be expected to cooperate and collaborate fully with other staff members in meeting the medical care needs of VAMC patients. The physician is accountable for health care outcomes, ethical practice, peer review, and continued professional development to support the mission of the Veterans Health Administration.
Work Schedule: Regular Tour of Duty: Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Due to the nature of the work, the physician may occasionally be required to stay later than 4:30p.m., as required.
