Contract Duration: At least 6 months
Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract
Hours: 40 hours per week
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
On-Call: No on-call coverage required
Weekends/Nights: No nights or weekends
Patient Volume: Approximately 2.5 patients per hour
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, experienced Physician to provide on-site primary and emergency medical care to a male incarcerated population. The physician will manage a general patient caseload as well as specialized populations, including individuals with dementia and developmental disabilities.
The physician will work collaboratively with other medical providers, including Nurse Practitioners, to ensure safe, effective, and comprehensive patient care.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide routine primary care and emergency medical services to patients.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Manage patients with complex medical needs, including dementia and developmental disabilities.
• Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans and follow-up care.
• Collaborate with Nurse Practitioners and other healthcare professionals as part of a multidisciplinary care team.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation and patient records.
• Follow established clinical protocols, healthcare standards, and applicable regulations.
• Promote patient safety, continuity of care, and quality healthcare services.
Minimum Qualifications
• Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree.
• Board Certification by an American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) member board or applicable recognized specialty board.
• Current, active, and unrestricted Ohio Medical License.
• Ability to provide medical care in a correctional healthcare environment.
• Strong clinical, communication, and decision-making skills.
