Job Overview
Gastroenterology position at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. This role offers the opportunity to impact patient lives in a community that ranks among West Virginia’s top-tier towns for quality of life.
Location
Bridgeport, WV – a vibrant community located less than two hours south of Pittsburgh, PA, with strong industry ties including government, energy, aerospace, and health care.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and treat patients with digestive disorders, including liver disease, ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome, cancers, and other gastrointestinal conditions in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
Provide consultative services with hospitalists and manage inpatient and clinic schedules.
Qualifications
MD, DO, or foreign equivalent with eligibility to obtain a West Virginia state medical license.
Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency and a Gastroenterology fellowship.
Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, with all credentials verified at the time of appointment.

New 300‑bed, non‑profit hospital facility.
Call of 1:6 and alternating six‑week inpatient service.
Six Advanced Practice Providers across inpatient and clinic settings.
Average of 100 endoscopy cases per physician per month.
Clinic: 3 days; Endoscopy: 2 days per week.
Comprehensive health benefits, 403(b) retirement match, optional 457(b) plan, and short‑term disability covering 100% base salary up to six months.
Significant recruitment incentives with an initial multi‑year contract.
Schedule
40 hours per week.
