JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: A-MD-70458 Profession: Physician Specialty: Gastroenterology Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Jackson, MI Service Setting: Inpatient Coverage Type: Clinical + Call Coverage Period: Jan 01, 2027 Ongoing Shift Schedule: Sat-Sat; 7a-7p 1 week per month Call Schedule: 7p-7a Call Type: Beeper Call Ratio: 1:4 Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adult and Geriatric Average Daily Volume: New consults: 6-8 Follow-ups: 8 FACILITY INFORMATION Trauma Level: Level II EMR System: Epic PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Temporary Privileges Available: No Credentialing Timeline: 90-120 days REQUIRED PROCEDURES Colonoscopy EGD ERCP (preferred) Advanced GI procedures JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Board Certified Licenses: Active MI License Certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA) Experience: Fellowship-trained in Gastroenterology Other Qualifications: Clean background; no malpractice or license issues Epic EMR familiarity preferred Duties & Responsibilities Provide inpatient GI consultations and follow-up care for adult and geriatric patients. Perform endoscopic procedures including colonoscopy, EGD, and ERCP as needed. Manage acute GI conditions in hospitalized patients. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and provide 24-hour call coverage. Participate in quality improvement and maintain accurate documentation.
