REQUIRED PROCEDURES
Required Colonoscopy (with biopsy, with excision of polyp)
Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)
Liver biopsy
Insertion/management of Sengstaken/Blakemore tube
Preferred Upper GI endoscopy (with biopsy, with foreign body removal, with fulguration of bleeder (cautery vs. laser), with injection of varices)
ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography) (Diagnostic, Therapeutic, with PEG (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy
Esophageal dilatation/manometry
Esophageal manometry interpretation
Small Bowel biopsy
Lower GI endoscopy
Sigmoidoscopy (Flexible, Rigid)
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Board: Board Certified required
Licenses: Licensed in NM
DEA: DEA required (must be dedicated to NM)
Certifications: BLS, ACLS
Fellowship: Preferred
Other Qualifications: Clean background required for temporary privileges
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide inpatient GI rounding daily from 7a to 7p
Perform advanced endoscopic procedures including ERCP and EUS
Take beeper call from Monday 7a to Monday 7a, responding promptly to calls
Manage inpatient admissions and assigned patients with higher acuity gastrointestinal conditions
Collaborate with hospital staff to ensure continuity of care during coverage weeks
