JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: Profession: Physician Specialty: Gastroenterology Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Tyler, TX 75701 Service Setting: Inpatient Coverage Type: Call Only Coverage Period: Oct 15-21, 2026 Call Schedule: 7a-7a Call Type: Beeper Call Ratio: 1:4-6 Callback %: 10-15 Reason for Coverage: Supplemental PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 5-7 Admissions: 4-6 Rounding: Yes FACILITY INFORMATION Trauma Level: I EMR System: Epic Physician in Practice: 4 Support Staff: 1 PA, 2 NPs, 1-2 RNs PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Temporary Privileges Available: Yes REQUIRED PROCEDURES Required Upper GI endoscopy ERCP, EUS Esophageal dilatation/manometry & interpretation Small Bowel biopsy Lower GI endoscopy Colonoscopy Liver biopsy Insertion/management of Sengstaken/Blakemore tube JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC Licenses: Licensed in TX Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ATLS, ABLS Fellowship: Required Duties & Responsibilities Perform scheduled colonoscopies on a Mon-Fri schedule. Conduct inpatient consultations from the prior night and provide follow-up procedures in the GI lab as needed. Provide GI coverage during periods of provider vacation, CME, or scheduling conflicts. Collaborate with midlevel providers (NPs and PAs) for pre- and post-procedure patient workups. Manage complex GI patients in both clinic and GI lab settings, including endoscopic procedures.
