Help Build a New Cardiology Service Line in East Tennessee

A rare opportunity to shape a new cardiology program in a newly renovated Knoxville office with dedicated clinical space, advanced imaging capabilities including PET/CT, and access to an established ambulatory surgery center.

The Opportunity

APEX Cardiovascular Group, part of US Heart and Vascular, is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible General Cardiologist to join our growing cardiovascular practice in Knoxville, Tennessee. This is a ground-floor opportunity for a physician who wants to help develop a new cardiology service line while practicing alongside an established vascular surgery team with a strong regional presence.

The incoming physician will step into a market with an existing patient base, active referral relationships, a dedicated physician referral specialist, and ongoing community outreach designed to support early practice growth. The position offers the resources of a growing national cardiovascular organization while preserving local clinical decision-making and physician autonomy.

A New Knoxville Practice Environment

The cardiology program will be based in Knoxville in a newly renovated central office designed to support coordinated cardiovascular care. The space is planned to include:

Modern, purpose-built cardiology clinic and patient care space

Dedicated diagnostic and imaging areas, including PET/CT capabilities

Onsite vascular imaging and close collaboration with experienced vascular specialists

Access to an established ambulatory surgery center and procedural infrastructure

Established and growing referral base with immediate cross-specialty collaboration

Competitive compensation with production bonus opportunity

Comprehensive benefits package and relocation assistance

Support from an experienced local operations team and the broader US Heart and Vascular network

Clinical Responsibilities

This is a full-time position focused primarily on outpatient general cardiology. Responsibilities are expected to include: General cardiovascular consultations, evaluation, and longitudinal patient management

Outpatient diagnostic testing and interpretation within the physician's scope and credentials

Cardiac risk assessment and preoperative clearance for patients within the existing surgical referral pipeline

Collaboration with vascular surgeons, advanced practice providers, imaging staff, and clinical teams

Development of strong relationships with primary care physicians and other referring providers throughout Knoxville and East Tennessee

Participation in the continued development of the practice's cardiology services, quality standards, and patient access strategy

Qualifications MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease

Completion of an ACGME-accredited Cardiovascular Disease fellowship

Eligible for an unrestricted Tennessee medical license and applicable hospital or facility privileges

Commitment to collaborative, high-quality, patient-centered care
