Job description
We are seeking a Board-Certified Obstetrics and Gynecology Physician for a locum tenens opportunity in North Carolina , near Shannon. This is a short-term assignment with excellent support, offering a chance to work in a dynamic inpatient setting.
Assignment Details: Dates : December 16, 2024, to December 18, 2024
Coverage Type : Call only (backup call, second line)
Shifts : Call coverage ends at 7:00 AM on December 18, 2024
Practice Setting : Inpatient; no outpatient duties required
Rounding : Assigned patients
Patient Care : Includes admissions; temporary privileges are available
Practice Requirements: Board Certification : Required in Obstetrics and Gynecology
Certifications Needed :ACLS
BLS
PALS
Licensing : Active North Carolina medical license required
Facility Details: Average deliveries per year: 350
Inpatient department includes six beds
Trauma Level: 0 Pediatric Level: 2
Specialty Skills Required: Obstetrics :Routine deliveries, vaginal deliveries, low-forceps, and decision-making for C-sections
Management of both low-risk and high-risk pregnancies
Fetal heart rate interpretation, OB ultrasounds, and VBACs
Complicated deliveries including breech, multiple births, and abruptions
Gynecology :Surgical procedures including laparoscopic diagnostics, tubal ligations, and ovary removal
Office procedures such as IUD placements, colposcopies, and cryosurgery
Support Staff: RN: 2
Midwife: Takes first call
PA/NP: 1
Additional Details: Call Response Time : 25 minutes
Facility uses Cerner EMR system
Credentialing process: Quick turnaround (approximately 2 days)
Travel and Lodging: Nearest airport
