Locum Tenens Hematologist/Oncologist Needed: Deliver Vital Cancer Care near Ash Fork, Arizona (j- )Are you a board-certified hematologist/oncologist seeking a rewarding locum tenens opportunity to contribute to the well-being of patients in a thriving community near Ash Fork, Arizona? Our healthcare team is actively searching for a skilled and experienced physician to join our established oncology practice and provide comprehensive medical oncology care for adult patients (18+). Focus on Medical Oncology:Dedicate your time to delivering high-quality medical oncology care within a well-equipped outpatient practice. This includes conducting consultations, developing treatment plans, managing side effects, and collaborating with a dedicated team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Predictable Schedule with Flexibility: Maintain a structured schedule with standard daytime hours (7:45 am - 4:30 pm) for two weeks per month, offering flexibility to manage your personal commitments while making a significant impact. Supportive Work Environment: Work alongside a team of dedicated healthcare professionals, including nurses, medical assistants, and a pharmacist, in a collaborative setting. You'll benefit from Cerner, the electronic medical records system used at the facility. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive consultations and physical examinations for adult patients with a variety of hematologic and oncologic conditions. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and the healthcare team. Manage and monitor treatment side effects and adjust plans as needed. Order and interpret diagnostic tests to guide treatment decisions. Provide ongoing patient education and support to empower patients in their fight against cancer. Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, pharmacists, and referring physicians, to ensure seamless patient care. Document patient care accurately and efficiently within the Cerner electronic medical records system. Qualifications for Success: Current board certification in Hematology/Oncology (BC/BE) is mandatory. Valid and active medical license in the state of Arizona or a willingness to obtain an Interstate Medical License Compact (IMLC) is required. We are not seeking willingness to relocate or obtain additional licensure at this time. Current certifications in ACLS and DEA are mandatory. BLS certification is preferred. Experience using Cerner, the electronic medical records system used at the facility, is preferred. Experience in a general medical oncology practice setting is required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, families, and staff.
