Job Title: Internal Medicine Physician Nocturnist

Coverage Period: Ongoing
Clinical Shift Schedule: 12 shifts/month, 7:00 PM 7:00 AM

Patient Demographics: Adults across all socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds
Patient Volume/Census: 910 patients per provider per night
Admissions: Yes

Phone Consults: Yes
Case Mix: Unassigned ED patients, transfers, inpatient consults, critical care admissions (co-managed)

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Licenses: Must be licensed or eligible in Alabama
Certifications: Board certified/eligible in Internal Medicine
Experience: Internal Medicine residency trained
Other Qualifications: Experience with diverse patient populations preferred
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide overnight coverage for ED unassigned patients requiring admission
Co-manage critical care patients with intensivist support
Perform admissions, transfers, and inpatient consults
Work collaboratively with subspecialists and support teams
Participate in teaching through ACOM and ACGME residency programs
