JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: H-MD- Profession: Physician Specialty: Hospitalist Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Meridian, Mississippi Coverage Period: Sep 10, 2026 Ongoing Shift Schedule: Days and Nights, 7a-5p/8a-6p/7p-7a; 7-on/7-off schedule Reason for Coverage: Coverage Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Rounding: Included FACILITY INFORMATION No. of Beds in Department: 260 beds EMR System: Epic PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes REQUIRED PROCEDURES Moderate Sedation JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC/BE in Internal Medicine (ABIM) or Family Medicine (ABFM) or AOBIM or AOMFM Licenses: Active MS medical license and DEA with MS address (Schedules 2,2N,3,3N,4,5); CSR if required DEA / CDS: Active DEA with MS address and Schedules 2-5; CSR if needed Certifications: ACLS required Experience: Completed 3-year residency in EM, FM, or IM; at least 30 patients seen in last 12 months or recent residency Other Qualifications: Case logs for past 2 years; 40 CME hours over past 2 years; Ability to supervise NP/PA DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide comprehensive hospitalist care, including admissions, daily rounds, and discharge planning. Respond to medical emergencies, codes, and rapid response team calls. Supervise and serve as a backup physician for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. Manage patient care in a closed ICU setting and provide CCU coverage as needed. Perform moderate sedation procedures as required.
