Job DescriptionJob Title: Primary Care Physician Family Medicine / Internal Medicine (MD/DO)
\ NNo. of Positions / Candidates Required: 2 FTE
\ NSpecialty: Family Medicine (FM) and Internal Medicine (IM) Comprehensive Outpatient Primary Care.
\ NPlace of Work (City/State): Fort Yuma Health Care Center (FYHCC)
\ NSite: Fort Yuma Health Care Center (FYHCC)
\ NLocation: 401 Picacho Road, Winterhaven, CA 92283
\ NDuration: 1-year initial contract with four additional one-year option periods.
\ NShift Schedule: M-F 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Outpatient clinic coverage
\ NHow Many Shifts Neededper Month: Based on full-time scheduling requirements, generally 80 hours every two weeks, excluding holidays.
\ NCredentialing / Onboarding Time: 6-8 weeks
\ NCertifications:
\ N Current Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
\ N Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
\ N Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration, when required for assigned duties.
\ N Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.
\ N MD or DO degree from anLCME- or COCA-accredited medical school, or an equivalent institution recognized by ECFMG, as applicable.
\ N Successful completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited residency program in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
\ N Experience Needed:
\ N Minimum 2 years of recent outpatient primary care experience in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine after residency.
\ N Experience evaluating, diagnosing, and managing acute and chronic medical conditions in an outpatient setting.
\ N Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) and accurate clinical documentation.
\ N Experience in ambulatory care, community health centers, rural healthcare, Tribal health programs, Federal facilities, or Indian Health Service (IHS) is preferred but not required.
\ N Special Skills Needed:
\ N Strong primary care skills in evaluating, diagnosing, treating, and managing acute and chronic medical conditions.
\ N Proficiency in preventive care, comprehensive patient assessments, and evidence-based treatment planning.
\ N Ability to order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and perform office-based procedures within clinical privileges.
\ N Experience providing care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, as applicable.
\ N Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR), accurate clinical documentation, and interdisciplinary care coordination.
\ N Excellent communication, clinical judgment, and knowledge of HIPAA, IHS policies, patient safety, and Federal healthcare regulations.
\ N Key Responsibilities:
\ N Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and preventive healthcare services.
\ N Assess patients throughmedical histories, physical examinations, diagnostic testing, and develop individualized treatment plans.
\ N Manage acute and chronic medical conditions, prescribe medications, perform office-based procedures, and coordinate specialty referrals as needed.
\ N Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care and continuity of treatment.
\ N Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Government-provided Electronic Health Record (EHR) while complying with HIPAA, Federal, IHS, and facility policies.
\ N Maintain required licensure, certifications, clinical privileges, and complete all Government credentialing, orientation, and mandatory training requirements.
