Job description
NEEDED: PHYSICIAN – Locally Remote
nOBJECTIVE: provide independent physician review of medical documentation and position information submitted in connection with an employee’s reasonable-accommodation request. The purpose of this requirement is to obtain objective clinical opinions regarding medically supported functional limitations and the relationship between those limitations, the employee’s position requirements, and the requested accommodation..
nDELIVERY FORMAT: Via DFC-approved, Privacy Act-compliant, secure electronic transmission method, including DFC-approved Box or other DFC-approved secure file-transfer system.
nSCHEDULE: As Needed. Work will be accomplished between 8:00 am – 5:00 pm ET. Weekend, Overtime, and/or differential pay is not authorized.
nQUALIFICATIONS:
nnGraduation from an accredited medical school;
nDoctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO);
nRetain a current, active, valid, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the District of Columbia.
nMust reside locally in DC
nCompletion of an undergraduate program.
nBoard Certified or Board Eligible, Specializing in Occupational Medicine
nGraduation from an accredited medical school;
nSuccessful completion of an applicable residency program;
nResidency training shall be accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), or the applicable osteopathic accrediting body; and
nDemonstrated education, training, or experience relevant to Occupational Medicine and the assessment of functional limitations in workplace settings.
nMinimum of three professional references
n nJOB DUTIES:
nnShall review the information provided and prepare an independent medical opinion addressing the medically supported functional limitations of the employee and the relationship, if any, between the documented limitations and the employee’s ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
nMay identify whether additional medical documentation or clarification from the employee’s health-care provider is medically necessary to complete the review. Any request for additional information shall be narrowly tailored to the information necessary for the medical review.
n nReview employee’s reasonable-accommodation request;
nnMedical documentation supplied by the employee or the employee’s health-care provider;
nThe employee’s position description;
nThe essential functions of the employee’s position;
nRelevant workplace conditions or job requirements identified by DFC; and
