Job description
Job Title
Incumbent will be a member of the Medical Service and will participate in patient care, teaching and administrative activities as assigned. They will function as an independent physician provider, and they will provide medical care in the spectrum of their field of training and privileging and in all aspects of patient care including inpatient/outpatient care.
Duties
The incumbent will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:
Continuing the further development of the clinical programs.
Providing evaluation and treatment for patients seen in the outpatient clinics, labs, or inpatient services as assigned.
Providing patient care in the VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System. The incumbent will attend in the outpatient clinics, labs, or on the inpatient services as assigned and other clinical services needed by the service line. These clinical responsibilities may include patient care activities with or without trainees.
Supervising and teaching medical students, interns, residents, and fellows.
Participate in process improvement/quality assurance projects and other administrative duties assigned, including section meetings.
Providing expert consultation and treatment to patients in all clinical settings.
Providing on-call services as assigned, usually as part of a rotation with other physicians.

Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment) (EDRP): ??This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)

Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8am to 4:30pm
