Position Overview
The West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute (RNI) and the Department of Neurology at the WVU School of Medicine are actively recruiting a full‑time Clinician‑Researcher at the Associate Professor or Professor rank. The RNI is a multidisciplinary patient care, education, and research institute providing neurological and mental health care to over 300,000 annual visits.
Qualifications
MD or DO degree or international equivalent, eligible for state medical licensure.
Completed a psychiatry or neurology residency program and an ACGME/UCNS accredited neurology fellowship.
Board certified by ACGME/UCNS; all qualifications must be met by appointment.
Duties
Practice in cognitive and behavioral neurology, including mild cognitive impairment, Alzheimer’s disease, and related disorders.
Provide excellent patient care and actively participate in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
Develop and sustain an independent, externally funded research program in clinical neuroscience.
Design and lead clinical trials, observational studies, and investigator‑initiated research projects.
Publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.
Collaborate across departments and disciplines to foster innovative research initiatives.
Mentor trainees and junior faculty in research methodology and career development.
