JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: H-MD- Profession: Physician Specialty: Neurology Job Type: Travel Location: Orangeburg, South Carolina Facility: MUSC Health Orangeburg Health System: Medical University of South Carolina Health - Locums Coverage Period: Oct 19, 2026 Feb 28, 2027 Shift Schedule: Days, 7a 7p Hours Per Shift: 12 (7a-7p) Shifts Per Week: 7 Reason for Coverage: Backfill FTE Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Case Mix: Stroke and general neurology consultations Rounding: Included (inpatient coverage) Phone Consults: No (Telemedicine covers 7p to 7a) FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Epic Specialty Backup Available: Telemedicine (7p-7a) PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Credentialing Timeline: ASAP (expedited credentialing) Temporary Privileges Available: Yes REQUIRED PROCEDURES Stroke consultations Inpatient neurology management Clinic outpatient evaluations JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC/BE in Neurology (American Board Certification required), Stroke Certification required Licenses: Active SC License (or ready to be issued) Certifications: Stroke Certification, EPIC proficiency required Other Qualifications: MUSC Submission checklist required DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide adult neurology consultations for stroke patients. Manage inpatient neurology coverage (7a-7p). See clinic patients (3-4 hours per day). Collaborate with telemedicine team for overnight coverage (7p-7a). Maintain thorough documentation in EPIC.
