n nWhat You'll Do:

nAs the Physician you will provide primary and/or urgent healthcare to patients while maintaining high standards of medical care and patient safety. This role will assess, diagnose, treat, and monitor patients while providing education, counseling, referrals, and appropriate follow-up.

nYour Accountabilities in the Role:

nnProvides comprehensive primary and/or urgent care by obtaining patient histories, performing physical examinations, ordering diagnostic testing, diagnosing illnesses and conditions, and developing and monitoring treatment plans.

nDocuments patient care accurately and timely within the electronic health record to support quality patient care, clinical requirements, and appropriate billing.

nPrescribes medications and performs or orders appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including minor office surgical procedures as appropriate.

nDirects and supervises nursing care and provides appropriate supervision and direction to non-physician providers and clinical staff.

nReviews laboratory and diagnostic test results in a timely manner and communicates with patients regarding results and appropriate follow-up.

nProvides patient education, counseling, self-management guidance, healthy behavior recommendations, and support for individual health goals.

nRefers patients to appropriate specialists and coordinates care as needed to support comprehensive treatment.

nParticipates in Patient Centered Medical Home activities and quality initiatives to support high standards of patient care.

n nPosition Requirements:

nnEducation: MD or DO required. Must possess or be able to obtain a Michigan medical license.

nExperience: 1+ Years of previous primary care experience preferred. Successful completion of a Family Practice, or Emergency Medicine residency with documented clinical experience required. Specialists must have successfully completed applicable residency and/or fellowship training.

nCertifications: Current unrestricted Michigan physician license required. Unrestricted Federal and State Controlled Substance licenses required. Board Certified or Board Eligible status required. Current Michigan driver's license required. BLS certification required; ACLS certification recommended.

nFunctional Skills: Strong clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, documentation, communication, and patient management skills. Ability to provide appropriate supervision and direction to non-physician providers and clinical staff.

nTechnology Skills: Ability to effectively use an electronic health record to document patient care activities, review and communicate patient information, support clinical requirements, and facilitate appropriate billing.

nCommunication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, healthcare providers, clinic staff, administration, and the public.

n nReports To: Associate Medical Director

nCore Hours: Two 11-hour work days (7:45 am – 7:00 pm) Two 9-hour days (7:45 am – 5 pm)

nTypical Work Week: M-F; 40–45 hours per week; occasional Saturday rotation and call responsibilities. (8:30am – 1 pm)
