nUnityPoint Clinic is a physician-led, nonprofit health care organization offering comprehensive services in primary care, walk-in care and specialty care. nnnPredictable, flexible schedule — Full‑time hospitalists work (7) 24‑hour shifts per 4‑week block, with prorated bonus available for reduced FTE

nnPractice entirely inpatient medicine in a trusted, community‑focused hospital and clinic system

n

nnCollaborative, cohesive physician group with experienced leadership and a collegial culture that supports autonomy and shared decision‑making

nnHighly experienced clinical and non‑clinical staff who know the patients, workflow, and community—allowing you to focus on patient care

n

nnFully integrated EPIC EMR system across clinics and hospitals, enhancing care coordination and efficiency

n

nnOpportunity to shape and grow your role in a stable program with long‑standing community presence

n

n nThis is an ideal role for OB/GYN hospitalists seeking schedule consistency , strong support, and meaningful clinical work without the burden of outpatient responsibilities.

nResponsibilities

nnnProvide 24/7 in-house obstetric and gynecologic coverage for Labor & Delivery and OB triage units

n

nnManage labor, delivery, postpartum care, and obstetric emergencies

n

nnPerform vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and OB/GYN surgical procedures as required

n

nnRespond promptly to obstetric emergencies, including shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, hypertensive crises, and fetal distress

n

nnProvide gynecologic care for emergency and inpatient consultations as needed

n

nnServe as a clinical resource and backup for community OB/GYN physicians and midwives

n

nnCollaborate with anesthesiology, neonatology, nursing, and ancillary staff to ensure coordinated, high‑quality care

n

nnSupervise and support Midwives

n

nnMaintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)

n

nnParticipate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and review of OB metrics

n

nnEnsure compliance with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and regulatory standards

n

nnFoster a culture of patient-centered, respectful, and evidence‑based care

n

nnParticipate in departmental meetings, drills, and continuing medical education activities

n

nnSupport initiatives related to risk management, peer review, and clinical best practices

n

n nQualifications

nnnMD or DO

n

nnBoard Eligible or Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology

n

nnMust have at least 3 years of experience

n

nnAbility to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa

n

nnHold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician’s field of practice

n

nnEligible to work in the United States
