"Hematology/Oncology Physician OpportunityGreenville, South CarolinaA healthcare facility in Greenville, South Carolina is seeking a locum Hematology/Oncology physician for ongoing coverage.Compensation:$570/hrPosition DetailsSpecialty: Hematology / OncologyPractice Setting: Free-Standing Cancer CenterStart Date: July 1, 2026 preferredInitial Assignment Length: 6 monthsOngoing coverage anticipated beyond December 2026Clinic Hours: 8:30 AM 4:30 PMCall ScheduleWeekend call rotation:Friday 4:30 PM Monday 8:00 AMApproximately every 5th or 6th weekendAdditional call coverage:1 week of call every 68 weeksClinical ResponsibilitiesOutpatient and inpatient Hematology/Oncology coverageParticipation in Tumor Board meetingsManagement of Bone Marrow TransplantsBlood Bank managementOrdering tests and imaging studiesPrescribing medications and treatment plansPatient PopulationAdult patientsGeriatric patientsPractice Breakdown65% benign hematology35% malignant oncology0% internal medicinePatient VolumeOutpatient clinic: Approximately 25 patients per dayInpatient call/rounding: Approximately 20 patients per dayPractice EnvironmentCollaborative practice with:7 physicians6 APPsChemotherapy administered by oncology nursing staffEMR: EpicAdditional Coverage InformationInpatient coverage is requiredCandidates unwilling to participate in inpatient coverage will not be consideredProviders are expected to treat more than 12 patients per dayRequirementsBoard Certified in Hematology & OncologyActive South Carolina license requiredBLS certification requiredDEA requiredClean background required for emergency temporary privilegesNPDB Self-Query report required within 30 days of presentationCandidates must disclose if they can provide at least 2 weeks of coverage per monthAdditional InformationEstimated credentialing timeframe: Approximately 60 daysTravel candidates accepted"
