JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: Profession: Physician Specialty: Pediatric Ophthalmology Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: El Paso, TX 79902 Service Setting: Inpatient Coverage Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: Dec 01, 2026 Jan 01, 2027 Shift Schedule: 8a 5p Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance covered PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Newborns (0-1 year) Rounding: One screening per patient Case Mix: ROP, NICU / Neonatal FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Cerner PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: No Temporary Privileges Available: Yes JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC Licenses: TX Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Fellowship: Preferred Duties & Responsibilities Perform ROP (Retinopathy of Prematurity) screening in NICU settings across three hospital campuses Conduct comprehensive pediatric ophthalmology examinations on newborns Collaborate with NICU staff and neonatologists to coordinate patient care Document screening results and develop follow-up care plans Provide non-surgical and surgical ophthalmology interventions as needed
