Job DescriptionInpatient Adult Psychiatry Opportunity – Troy, NY Quick Screening Snapshot Location: Troy, New York
Position Type: Full-time, inpatient adult psychiatrist
Unit: 30-bed adult mental health unit (shared between 2 psychiatrists)
Schedule: Full-time day shifts (aligned with hospital daytime coverage; exact hours not specified)
Call: 1:6 weekend rotation
Start Date: Immediate placement
Licensure & Credentialing Requirements Board Certification: Required OR truly Board Eligible (Psychiatry)
Board Status: Must be current (no lapsed certification accepted)
State License: New York license required or ability to obtain
DEA: Required
Candidate Requirements Experienced psychiatrists preferred; recent graduates acceptable
Not accepting locum candidates
Not open to visa sponsorship
Clinical Role Overview Provide inpatient psychiatric care across three specialized units: Mental Health
MICA (Mentally Ill Chemically Addicted)
Gero-Psychiatry
Collaborate with hospitalists, specialists, and community-based providers
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team: counselors, therapists, case managers, nurse practitioners, and fellow psychiatrists
Treat a diverse adult psychiatric population
Deliver patient-centered, compassionate care addressing medical, psychiatric, and social needs
Participate in weekend call rotation
