Job description
A nationally recognized cardiovascular program in Hartford, Connecticut is seeking a BC/BE Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join a busy, collegial team at a leading academic medical center. Robotic cardiac surgery experience is highly desirable , with an opportunity to practice in a high-volume environment supported by advanced technology, dedicated cardiac critical care, and a strong regional referral network.
Position Highlights:
1,500+ open-heart cases annually
High-volume valve surgery program
Mitral repair reference center with the Northeast s largest mitral surgery volume
Heart failure program with transplant, VAD, and ECMO
Expertise in aortic replacement, TAVR, mitral repair/replacement, and minimally invasive surgery
40 ORs , including 4 dedicated cardiac ORs
2 state-of-the-art hybrid ORs and 5 robotic systems
15 minimally invasive ORs
Dedicated cardiac intensivists and advanced practitioners
Strong referral network spanning 8 affiliated hospitals
Cardiothoracic surgery residency affiliated with the University of Connecticut
Academic appointment opportunities

Qualifications:
MD/DO degree
BC/BE in Cardiothoracic Surgery
Eligible for Connecticut medical licensure
Robotic cardiac surgery training and experience highly desirable
