Job Description***General Surgeon opening in Norton, Virginia*****Opportunity details:**- Located in Norton, VA - Kingsport 45m; Abingdon 50m- Full-time, permanent position- Seeking a qualified General Surgeon to serve its patient population.- Our goal is to find a general surgeon who shares the same philosophy as us in being able to accommodate our patients at home and not transfer them out of the area for their care. - General bread & butter surgery experience and advanced laparoscopic skills required. - Minimally invasive skills a plus.- The hospital has expressed a large amount of flexibility to fit the needs of the new physician. - If board-eligible, board certification must be completed within five years of completion of residency for all candidates.- Largest healthcare facility in the far southwest Virginia region. - Guaranteed Base Salary - Productivity Bonus - Performance Bonus - Signing Bonus - Moving allowance- Full Benefits Health/Dental/Vision - 403B Retirement (or 401K if applicable) - Service area includes a population of 75,000 to 100,000 in Southwest Virginia and Southeast Kentucky**About location:** - Small town living - Centrally located office - Easy, light traffic commutes to larger cities - Moderately sized airport within a short drive - Safe, family-friendly communities - Excellent public schools - Mild weather and 4 distinct seasons - Incredible mountain vistas - Low cost of living - An abundance of outdoor activities (golfing, fishing, camping, biking, hiking, kayaking and more) - Access to area lakes including South Holston, Cherokee, Boone and WataugaLocated in Norton, Virginia, our Cancer Center houses medical and radiation oncology with a 20-chair infusion center, and an onsite mobile PET CT scanner all at one convenient location.
