Locum Tenens: General Surgery Physician Near Martinsville, VA We are currently seeking a board-certified General Surgery Physician for a locum tenens opportunity near Martinsville, VA. This position requires call-only coverage and is available on an ongoing basis starting ASAP. The role focuses on inpatient care, providing surgical support as needed. Conduct hospital rounding and manage emergency cases as required

Work collaboratively with hospital staff to ensure patient safety and continuity of care

Required Qualifications:

Board Certification: Yes, must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in General Surgery

Fellowship: Required

Licensing: Active Virginia state license

Certifications: No requirement for ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, or PALS

EMR Systems: Athena & Meditech

Credentialing Timeframe: Estimated 60 days for credentialing with temporary privileges available

Additional Details: No outpatient care required; the focus is solely on inpatient responsibilities

Temporary privileges are available to expedite onboarding

The department has 24 beds, and the patient load varies per shift
