Are you a skilled and certified General Surgeon looking for a locum tenens position? An exciting opportunity near Wausau, WI, is now open, offering both inpatient and outpatient care. This ongoing position starts in December 2024 and requires call coverage with variable scheduling. Below are the details for this rewarding locum tenens role:Assignment Highlights Position Type: Locum Tenens, General Surgery Location: Near Wausau, Wisconsin Start Date: December 2, 2024 Duration: Ongoing, with coverage needed approximately 11 days per month (consecutive days preferred) Coverage Type: 24-hour call with response time within 30 minutesPractice Setting Inpatient and Outpatient: Both inpatient and outpatient care is required Call Schedule: 1:3 call ratio with beeper; average response time within 30 minutesFacility and Support Details Admissions Required: Yes, provider will handle admissions Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Epic system in use Support Staff: RN and other office staff available as needed; no supervision of advanced practice providers requiredRequired Qualifications Board Certification: General Surgery board certification is required; a fellowship is preferred Licensing: Must have a Wisconsin medical license or be eligible through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) Certifications: ACLS and BLS are required Additional Skills: Expertise in laparoscopic surgery, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repairs, GI endoscopy, and minor orthopedic proceduresSurgical Skills and Procedures Required: Proficiency in general surgery and various specialized procedures, including: Laparoscopic surgery Appendectomy and cholecystectomy Hernia repairs and fundoplication Colonoscopy and sigmoidoscopy Minor orthopedics and vascular surgery Obstetric, gynecologic, thoracic, and abdominal surgeriesAdditional Benefits Flexible Scheduling: Coverage for major holidays, including New Years Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Temporary Privileges Available: Streamlined credentialing to begin within 90 days Vendor-Supplied Insurance: Comprehensive malpractice insurance coverage providedLodging and Travel Nearest Airport: Convenient travel to the area through Rhinelander, WI, airport Lodging Recommendations: Options available for extended stay include Comfort Inn, Holiday Inn Express, and American InnIf youre interested in learning more about this locum tenens opportunity near Wausau, Wisconsin, and you are ready to make a difference in this rewarding role, apply today using Job ID .
